You're an engineer at a SaaS attendance-management company. A "CSV bulk import" feature (upload a spreadsheet to register many employees at once) is launching next week. You're running a walkthrough for Jordan, who just joined the customer support team two weeks ago and has no engineering background, so they'll be ready to field questions once it ships. Jordan has only seen the feature name in a release doc — nothing else.

JordanThanks for setting this up. I saw "CSV bulk import" in the release notes but honestly it didn't mean much to me.
You (internally)You're tempted to pull up a screenshot of the upload screen and walk through the settings, but Jordan doesn't even know what problem this feature solves yet. Starting with the screen would just turn into rote memorization.
JordanIs it a pretty complex feature? I'm a little nervous about whether I'll be able to answer customer questions on it.

1ターン目はWhy(この機能が解決する課題)だけに絞り、画面の話はまだしない。2ターン目でWhat(具体的に何ができるようになるか、ビフォーアフター)を伝える。
Hint 1: Direction (US version)
Jordan isn't technical, so trying to make them memorize the full spec won't help when a real, unpredictable question comes in. Turn 1 should be pure Why — the problem this feature solves — with no screens yet. Turn 2 covers the What: a concrete before/after of what's now possible. Turn 3 shouldn't try to cover every detail of How — narrow it down to the basic operating flow plus the single most common thing that trips people up, since that's what Jordan will actually need on a support call.
Hint 2: Useful phrases (US version)
Turn 1 (Why): "So here's the bottom line: this feature exists to get rid of registering employees one at a time by hand. Whenever a big group joins at once, someone used to have to repeat that same manual entry for every single person." Turn 2 (What): "What's new is that you can upload one CSV file — built from a spreadsheet of your employee list — and register dozens of people in a single upload, instead of one at a time. You just need the columns, like name, department, and start date, to match a set format." Turn 3 (How, narrowed down): "The actual steps are just: hit 'Bulk Import' in the admin panel and upload the CSV. But the number one support question is going to be a formatting error. So really, the only two things you need to remember are where the sample template file lives, and to tell people to double-check their column order and headers if they hit an error."

YouSo here's the bottom line: this feature exists to get rid of registering employees one at a time by hand. Whenever a big group joins at once, someone used to have to repeat that same manual entry for every single person.
JordanOh, that makes sense — that does sound tedious. So what can people actually do with it now?
YouYou can upload one CSV file — built from a spreadsheet of your employee list — and register dozens of people in a single upload, instead of one at a time. You just need the columns, like name, department, and start date, to match a set format.
JordanNice, that's a big time-saver. Is there anything that's likely to trip customers up?
YouThe actual steps are just: hit "Bulk Import" in the admin panel and upload the CSV. But the number one support question is going to be a formatting error. So really, the only two things you need to remember are where the sample template file lives, and to tell people to double-check their column order and headers if they hit an error.
Explanation (US version)

Turn 1 withholds the UI entirely and states only the Why — the manual-entry problem this solves — so Jordan has a mental frame before any detail lands. Turn 2 delivers the What as a concrete before/after (one at a time vs. dozens at once) rather than a spec dump. Turn 3 is the hardest part: instead of walking through every field and edge case, it deliberately narrows the How down to exactly two things Jordan can actually retain and use on a live support call — where the template lives, and the one failure mode that accounts for most tickets. Without that narrowing, a new hire has no way to tell which detail matters most and ends up trying to memorize everything, which falls apart the moment a real question doesn't match the script.

両言語版とも「Why(なぜ)→What(何ができるか)→How(どう使うか、しかも最小限に絞る)」という骨格自体は共通しており、非エンジニアへの説明としてはほぼ普遍的な型といえる。
