[Hook]:
On a Tuesday in October 2022, I sat in a Tokyo conference room
debating with our trading desk whether to sell a structured note
to a regional bank facing a yield-starved investment environment.
The math checked out, the client wanted it, but something felt off.
That moment—paused between executing a deal and protecting a
client—shaped how I think about business decisions.

At Tokai Tokyo Securities, I learned that meaningful business
decisions are rarely about choosing a good option from a bad one.
Marketing structured products to institutional investors taught me
to weigh layered considerations—risk, fit, regulation, relationship—
under information asymmetry. I designed a four-week training program
for 240 sales representatives that increased nationwide structured-
product sales by 38%, but more importantly, embedded clearer client-
suitability criteria into our process.

Pivoting to software engineering at MonotaRO has been a different
kind of decision school. Architecting our Sales Promotion
