A parent working abroad can still witness a child's first steps, and friends from different continents can share daily experiences instantly.

However, critics rightly observe that digital communication often promotes superficial interactions at the expense of deeper bonds. Many people scroll through social media rather than engaging meaningfully with those sitting beside them. Research suggests that heavy smartphone use during social gatherings reduces the quality of face-to-face conversation.
