1. CC(Coherence & Cohesion) —
(Error Correction)
3. TR(Task Response) — 両立場を公平かつ明確に提示する練習(Mini Essay)
Discussion Essay

• Body 2 の反論が弱い → However, this argument overlooks…

Writing Task 2 Band Descriptor(4

対比(逆方向) On the other hand / In contrast / Conversely On the contrary は「上記が完全に誤り」の場合のみ
However, this argument overlooks… / Yet this fails to consider…

Furthermore  /  On the other hand  /  However, this argument overlooks  /  In conclusion  /  while

Introduction:

"In an era of rapid urbanisation, cities must decide how to allocate limited land. 1___________ some residents campaign for preserving parks and gardens, others insist that economic development and housing take priority. This essay will examine both perspectives before concluding that a balanced policy is the most prudent approach."

"Those who support urban green spaces argue that parks provide measurable health benefits. Research has shown that proximity to green areas reduces stress-related illnesses. 2___________, trees and vegetation mitigate the urban heat island effect and absorb carbon dioxide, making cities more resilient to climate change."

"3___________, proponents of economic development contend that cities — especially in the developing world — cannot afford to keep open land idle when housing shortages and unemployment are pressing concerns. 4___________ the long-term economic costs of neglecting greenery. Studies demonstrate that parks increase nearby property values and attract skilled workers, ultimately benefiting the local economy."

Conclusion:

"5___________, while economic growth is vital for urban prosperity, cities must not treat green spaces as expendable. Policymakers ought to mandate minimum green-space ratios in all new developments, ensuring that growth and environmental stewardship advance together."

3. On the other hand — Body 2

4. However, this argument overlooks —

5. In conclusion —

ポイント: (3) では On the contrary ではなく On the other hand が正解。

Introduction
The rapid proliferation of digital technologies has fundamentally changed the nature of human interaction. While some argue that platforms such as social media and video calling have strengthened social bonds across distances, others contend that constant connectivity has paradoxically deepened loneliness. This essay will examine both perspectives before arguing that technology's impact depends largely on how individuals choose to use it.
Body 1 —
Those who believe technology strengthens connections point to its capacity to transcend geographical barriers. Video calling applications enable families separated by oceans to maintain daily contact, while online communities allow individuals with niche interests to find genuine belonging worldwide. During the COVID-19 pandemic, digital tools demonstrably mitigated social isolation when face-to-face interaction was impossible, underscoring their value in maintaining human bonds.
Body 2 —
On the other hand, critics argue that technology fosters only superficial interaction. The replacement of face-to-face engagement with screen-based communication can erode empathy and weaken the quality of personal relationships. Furthermore, social media platforms — designed to maximise engagement — have been linked to increased anxiety and loneliness, particularly among younger users. However, this argument overlooks individual agency. Technology, like any tool, produces outcomes determined by the choices of its users.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while technology carries the risk of deepening isolation when misused, I believe it holds far greater potential to strengthen human connection. Rather than restricting access, societies should invest in digital literacy education to help individuals use technology as a bridge rather than a barrier.
