| Band | Lexical Resource

One ______ of weak protection is that..."
「他動詞(前置詞不要): ameliorate, exacerbate, circumvent」「形容詞+to: conducive to, ancillary to」「形容詞+in: inherent in」という3つのグループに分けて暗記すると効率的。日本語の「〜に資する」「〜に内在する」という訳語に引きずられて前置詞を誤りやすい点に注意する。

解答分析
Part Aで確認したように、低頻度アカデミック語彙は単独で暗記するのではなく、文脈内の役割(原因/結果、肯定/否定の評価)とセットで覚えることが定着の鍵になる。特に"corollary"のような名詞は、"A corollary of X is Y"(Xの必然的帰結はYである)という定型構文ごと覚えることで、Writing Task 2の因果関係の説明(特にDiscussion EssayやProblem-Solution Essay)でそのまま再利用できる。
Corporate Whistleblowing & Organisational Ethicsというテーマは、IELTS Writing Task 2の「個人の倫理的責任 vs 組織/社会への忠誠」(例: "Some people believe employees should always report wrongdoing, even if it harms their company. To what extent do you agree?")に直結する。今日学んだ語彙のうち、"a corollary of weak regulation is..."、"retaliation remains prevalent in..."、"risk is inherent in..."といった表現は、そのままBody paragraphの主張文(Topic Sentence)や因果関係の説明に転用できる。
よくある日本人のミス
| ミス | 原因 | 正しい書き方 |
|---|---|---|
| ...is conducive for success. | 「〜に資する」を直訳しforを選んでしまう | ...is conducive to success. |
| Risk is inherent of the job. | 「〜に内在する」の「に」をofと対応づけてしまう | Risk is inherent in the job. |
| The policy will ameliorate to the situation. | ameliorateを自動詞と誤解し不要な前置詞を加える | The policy will ameliorate the situation. |
| Employees circumvent from the rules. | avoid/escape系動詞の連語(get around, escape from)と混同する | Employees circumvent the rules. |
| plausibleを「もっともらしい=嘘っぽい」とネガティブに誤解する | 日本語の「もっともらしい」が持つ皮肉なニュアンスに引きずられる | plausibleは基本的に中立〜ポジティブ(信じるに足る)。皮肉を出したいなら"merely plausible"のように修飾する |
