- Part 7 は全54問（単一文書29問 Q147–175、複数文書25問 Q176–200）、Reading 全体で100問75分（ETS 公開の形式説明に基づく。本セッションでは再取得していないため未確認）。
- Phase 5 では撤回された旧案・例外・既定動作の整理が問われる
- 今回は5問・6分以内（導出値）。型: NOT／同義語／推測／計算／文挿入

Subject: Revised Parking Permit Program (replaces the August 18 notice)
Dear colleagues,
Thank you for your feedback on my August 18 notice. [1] Several of you pointed out that the proposed flat fee of $60 per month would be unfair to staff who commute to the office only part of the week. [2] Finance and I then reviewed the parking records, and we have therefore changed the plan. [3]
Beginning November 1, permits will be sold in two types. A full permit costs $45 per month and is valid every weekday. A flex permit costs $20 per month and covers up to eight days per month; each additional day costs $5 and is deducted from the holder's next paycheck. Employees assigned to the Harbor Road site, where only 40 spaces are available, are not eligible for flex permits because those spaces cannot be reserved by the day. [4]
Current permit holders do not need to reapply. Their permits will convert to full permits automatically unless they select the flex type on the Facilities portal by October 20. Anyone without a permit who wishes to obtain one should apply by the same date; later applications will be placed on a waiting list and processed in order of receipt. Carpoolers with two or more registered riders will receive a 50 percent discount on either permit type.

正解 B。flex は $20 で8日まで。11日 − 8日 ＝ 3日超過 × $5 ＝ $15。$20 ＋ $15 ＝ $35。A は超過分を忘れた値、C は 11日 × $5 ＝ $55 だけを数えた誤り（基本料金を足さず、8日の含みも無視）、D は $20 ＋ 11日 × $5 ＝ $75（8日の含みを無視）。申請日 10/15 は期限 10/20 以内なので待機リストにはならない点も確認する。

正解 [3]（選択肢 C）。They は直前の「the parking records」を受ける。[3] は「Finance and I then reviewed the parking records, and we have therefore changed the plan.」の直後で、複数形 records を They で受けられ、『記録が示すこと』→ 続く2種類の許可証、と論理が流れる。[1][2] は records がまだ登場していないので They の指す先が無い。[4] は Harbor Road の駐車場の話の直後で、記録の話に戻ると唐突。
解法ガイド
- 素早く型分類: 5問を先読みして型に分ける。NOT と計算は読み終えてから、同義語・文挿入は該当箇所を読みながら処理。
- 旧案を最初に切る: 件名の『replaces the August 18 notice』で、$60 は無効だと確定する。ここを読み落とすと Q3 で落ちる。
- 例外の積み重ね: 『full は $45。ただし flex。ただし Harbor Road は flex 不可。ただし何もしなければ full に自動変換。』と例外が積み重なる文書。階層で整理しながら読む。

弱点パターンと設計の記録
採らなかった案: (1) 意図問いチャット文書 — 形式が違うため却下。(2) 求人広告 — Phase 5 では過去回(Day146 ほか)と型が重なる。(3) 通知＋例外の積み重ね — 採用。理由: 『撤回された旧案』『例外の連鎖』『計算』を1文書に載せ、Phase 5 の ほぼ満点精度を 試す設計にできる。前提が変わったら（例えば Phase 6）、旧案と新案の差分を図表で出す形に替える。
数値の出所: $60／$45／$20／$5／8日／40席は本問のための仮定値（実在の企業・制度ではない）。

扱わなかった範囲と理由
- 複数文書（DP/TP）: 今日は単一文書。参照関係をまたぐ問題は日曜に回す
- 意図問い問題（チャット形式）: メール形式の文書に合わないため扱わなかった。別の出題日に
- 設問数: 本番の単一文書は2〜4問。今回は精度を見るため5問に増やした（そのぶん解答時間の目安を6分とした）
