Day 109 — Listening: Enrolling in a Weekend Photography Workshop — Section 1

Priya: Great, let me just pull that up… Okay, so it's a two-day weekend workshop, and yes, there are still a few places left. Can I take your name, please, so I can check whether you're already registered with us?

Daniel: It's Daniel, and the surname is Kowalczyk.

Priya: Sorry, would you mind spelling that surname for me?

Daniel: Yes, definitely — I've genuinely never used a proper camera before.

Priya: 07946 228130 — got it. Now, in terms of what to bring: this course is really designed around DSLR cameras, so if you own one, please bring it along, along with the charger. If you don't have one, don't worry — we do have a small number of loan cameras available, but I'd recommend letting us know in advance so we can reserve one for you. A smartphone camera, unfortunately, won't really work for this particular course, since a lot of the sessions are about manual settings that most phones don't have.

Daniel: Ah, I do actually have an old DSLR, so I'll dig that out.

Priya: Perfect. The workshop itself will be held in Studio 3, which is on the ground floor of the East Wing — it's clearly signposted once you're through the main entrance. In terms of parking, I should mention there isn't a car park on-site, so visitors usually use the public car park just across the road on Elm Street.

Priya: On the first morning, you'll be given a printed course handbook, which covers everything we'll go through across the two days — we don't provide memory cards, so do bring your own if you can, and a discount voucher isn't something we offer for this course, I'm afraid, though we do run seasonal promotions occasionally.
