Day 123 — Listening: Bellmont Community Sports Centre — Induction Talk — Section 2

Grace: Hi everyone, and welcome to Bellmont Community Sports Centre! My name's Grace, I'm the centre manager, and I'll be showing you around and giving you a bit of an overview before you get started.

So first, let's talk about opening hours. We're open Monday to Friday from 6am until 10pm, so plenty of time before or after work. At weekends, we used to close at 6pm, but — actually, sorry, that's out of date — we've recently trialled extended hours, so now we're open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am right through until 8pm.

Now, in terms of membership, there are two tiers. The Standard membership is £32 a month, and that gives you access to the gym floor and the sports hall. The Premium membership — let me just check that figure — I was going to say £50, but actually it's been reduced recently, so it's now £45 a month, and that includes everything in Standard plus the pool and all group classes.

If you're a student, you can get 15% off, but I should mention that discount only applies to the Standard membership, not Premium, and you'll need to show a valid student ID at the front desk when you sign up.

For lockers, there's a £5 deposit — that's a coin deposit, so bring some spare change — and it's fully refundable when you return the key. Just a heads-up, you'll need to bring your own padlock, as we don't provide them anymore.

Moving on to the pool — it's a 25-metre pool, six lanes, and we split the sessions into recreational swim and lane swim, so do check the timetable on the wall before you jump in. One important safety point: any children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times, no exceptions.

For booking classes — yoga, spin, that sort of thing — everything's done through our app now, not by phone. You'll need to book at least 24 hours in advance, and if you can't make it, please cancel at least 4 hours beforehand, otherwise it counts as a missed session.

Also, quick note on parking — the car park out front gives you two hours free, after which you'll be charged. However, if you're a member, you can get a permit sticker from the front desk, which gives you free parking all day, so it's worth picking one up.

Last thing — we've got an Open Day coming up next month with free trial classes for everyone. You can't just turn up on the day though, or call to book — you'll need to register in advance through the app, since spaces are limited.
