| Part 2 | Cue Card スピーチ(社会分析型) | 準備1分+1〜2分 | What→How→Why→Effectの構造で語れるか |
Not only did X happen, but Y also happened" のような形で、フォーマルかつ説得力のある話し方ができるかが評価されます。

断定("Technology is always good")ではなく、"Not necessarily — it really depends on how a given technology is designed and used" のように和らげると、より成熟した意見に聞こえます。
"One piece of technology I think has had a huge impact on society is [技術]."
"It works by [仕組みの簡単な説明]."
"Not only has" it [影響1], "but it has also" [影響2]."

Part 1
Constantly, to be honest — my phone is probably the first and last thing I look at each day. I use it for everything from communication to managing my schedule, which is convenient but also a little concerning at times.
Probably my smartphone, simply because it's replaced so many separate devices — a camera, a map, a notebook, all in one. It's hard to imagine daily life without it at this point.
Both, honestly. It's undeniably made everyday tasks quicker and more convenient, but it's also added a certain amount of mental clutter — constant notifications, the pressure to be reachable at all times, and so on.
Reasonably, yes — I'd say I'm fairly comfortable picking up new technology. That said, I do sometimes feel a step behind younger people, who seem to adapt to new interfaces almost instinctively.
(Cue Card)
導入 One piece of technology I think has had a huge impact on society is the smartphone, and specifically the smartphone equipped with GPS and internet access.
What The device itself combines a phone, a camera, a computer, and a navigation system into a single object that fits in your pocket, and it works by connecting to mobile networks and satellite systems to give people constant access to information, communication, and location data wherever they are.
Why big impact I think it's had such a big impact largely because of how quickly it became universal — within roughly a decade, it went from a niche gadget to something that the vast majority of the world's population now owns and relies on daily. Few inventions in history have been adopted so rapidly or so completely.
Effect In terms of effects, it has transformed how people work, communicate, and even navigate physical space — paper maps have become largely obsolete, for instance. Not only has it made everyday tasks like banking or shopping dramatically more convenient, but it has also reshaped social behaviour in ways that are still being studied, from shorter attention spans to a constant, low-level expectation of being reachable. On balance, I'd say the benefits have outweighed the drawbacks, though the drawbacks are far from trivial.
Part 3
I'd say yes, at least to some extent. Rarely does a technology as powerful as AI develop without significant risks — bias in decision-making systems, job displacement, and misuse being obvious examples. That said, regulation needs to be carefully balanced, since overly strict rules could stifle innovation or push development to less regulated countries. On balance, I think a moderate, adaptive regulatory framework makes more sense than either extreme.
Not necessarily, no. So significant have some of the downsides been that I'd hesitate to call the relationship straightforwardly positive. Take social media, for example — it's connected people globally, but it's also been linked to rising rates of anxiety and social comparison, particularly among younger users. I'd say it really depends on how a given technology is designed and used, rather than the technology itself being inherently good or bad.
I'd expect automation and AI to take over an increasing number of routine tasks, which will likely shift human work towards roles that require creativity, judgement, or interpersonal skills — things that are harder to automate. Not only will this change what jobs exist, but it will also change how and where people work, with remote and hybrid arrangements probably becoming even more standard than they already are.
Absolutely, and arguably we're already seeing early signs of it. Only when systems fail — a power outage, a network crash — do people realise just how reliant they've become on things like GPS navigation or digital payment systems. That's not necessarily a disaster in itself, but it does raise legitimate questions about resilience and what happens if that infrastructure isn't available.
What→How it works→Why big impact→Effect"という4段階の構造が明確に示され、テクノロジーの社会的インパクトを一貫して分析的に描写できている。
Phase 3
- "Not only has it made everyday tasks... more convenient, but it has also reshaped social behaviour" — Not only...but also構文の倒置
- "Rarely does a technology as powerful as AI develop without significant risks" — 頻度副詞Rarelyの倒置
- "So significant have some of the downsides been that I'd hesitate..." — so...that構文の倒置
- "Only when systems fail... do people realise..."
