| Part 2 | Cue Card スピーチ(変化する伝統の分析型) | 準備1分+1〜2分 | What→How it used to be→Why changing→How I feelの構造で語れるか |

断定("All traditions should be preserved")ではなく、"Granted, some traditions were rooted in outdated social structures. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean every custom should be abandoned" のように和らげると、より成熟した意見に聞こえます。
"One tradition I think is gradually changing is [伝統]."
"It used to involve [昔の実践]."
"While it is true that" [変化を肯定する側の論点], "it is also the case that" [自分の本音の立場]."

Part 1
Definitely — one that comes to mind is the New Year's visit to a shrine, which almost everyone in my family still does every year. It's less about religious belief these days and more about spending time together, to be honest.
On the whole, yes, though I wouldn't say every single tradition deserves to be kept exactly as it is. I think it's more about preserving the meaning behind a custom rather than clinging rigidly to the exact way it's performed.
It has, actually. As a teenager I found a lot of these customs a bit tedious, but now I appreciate them much more — I think I understand the sense of continuity and community they provide in a way I didn't back then.
Yes, we always have a specific meal together on New Year's Eve, which has been passed down for at least a couple of generations. It's a small thing, but it's become something I genuinely look forward to.
(Cue Card)
導入 One tradition I think is gradually changing is the local summer festival held in my hometown, which involves a procession, traditional music, and a shared community meal.
How it used to be It used to involve almost the entire neighbourhood — people would take a day off work, prepare food together for days in advance, and the procession would go through every street so that even elderly or housebound residents could take part from their doorsteps.
Why changing These days, though, it's changing quite noticeably. Fewer people take part in the preparation, and the event itself has been shortened and, to some extent, commercialised, with local businesses sponsoring parts of it to keep it financially viable. Although this has helped keep the festival alive at all, it has also arguably stripped away some of the community-driven spirit that originally defined it.
How I feel Honestly, my feelings about this are mixed. While it is true that commercial sponsorship has meant the festival hasn't simply disappeared, as some smaller local events have, it is also the case that something intangible has been lost along the way — that sense of an entire community building something together, rather than simply attending an organised event. Granted, nostalgia probably makes me exaggerate how much better things used to be. Nevertheless, I do think there's a real difference between a tradition that's kept alive by a community and one that's kept alive mainly by sponsorship money.
Part 3
I'd say it's possible, though it's rarely straightforward. Although modernization often pulls in the opposite direction to tradition — favouring efficiency and convenience over ritual and continuity — plenty of communities have managed to adapt customs rather than abandon them entirely, for instance by moving certain ceremonies online or shortening them to fit modern schedules. On balance, I'd say preservation is possible, but it usually requires the tradition itself to evolve somewhat.
To some extent, yes. While it is true that traditions ideally should survive because communities genuinely value them, rather than because of government mandate, it is also the case that some traditions — particularly those tied to endangered languages or indigenous practices — would likely vanish entirely without institutional support. That said, I think intervention works best when it funds and documents traditions rather than forcing communities to practise them in a particular way.
Admittedly, there's a real risk of cultural homogenization — you can see similar shops, media, and habits appearing in cities all over the world. Nevertheless, I don't think the relationship is purely negative; globalization has also made it far easier for smaller cultural traditions to be documented, shared, and even revived, through the internet in particular. I'd say the threat is real, but it's not the whole picture.
Honestly, yes, in certain cases. Despite the value of continuity, some older customs were rooted in social structures — rigid gender roles, for example — that most people would now consider unfair or outdated. Granted, it can feel uncomfortable to say a tradition should simply end. Still, I think a tradition's age alone doesn't automatically justify keeping it.
What→How it used to be→Why changing→How I feel"という4段階の構造が明確に示され、伝統の変化を一貫して分析的かつ個人的な視点の両方から描写できている。
